UTAH DIVORCE AND FAMILY LAW RESOURCES
Empowering You To Understand Your Domestic Law Issues
While there is no substitute for personal attention from a Utah family law attorney, understanding the issues can help you participate more effectively, ask more questions and decrease your anxiety about the process. Utah courts and other organizations have made numerous resources available to people like you who are facing divorce, custody and support issues. Consulting these resources in advance can better prepare you for your first meeting with a family law attorney and help you understand what our dedicated practitioners at Intermountain Legal can do for you.

Family Law Resources
- Online Court Assistance Program (OCAP) — OCAP is an initiative by the Utah court system to provide low-cost legal document preparation services to individuals who cannot afford or do not want an attorney. OCAP does not provide legal advice but simply helps people locate and complete the necessary forms to commence certain legal actions. Parties who represent themselves are still responsible for adhering to court procedures and timelines.
- Child support calculator — Courts generally defer to the child support guidelines when determining a support award. Nevertheless, departures do occur. Completing this form allows you to understand what child support you may receive or pay under the current guidelines, but it does not necessarily reflect the amount a court may ultimately award.
- Divorce Questionnaire — As attorneys, our first job is to understand our clients’ situation and determine how we can help them. By having you review and complete a brief questionnaire, we can better understand your issues and better serve your needs.
